Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to your spice preference)
- Cooked rice for serving
- Optional toppings: chopped green onions, sesame seeds, kimchi, shredded carrots
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the sauce over the ground beef and onion mixture. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Serve the Korean ground beef over cooked rice.
- Garnish with your favorite toppings, such as green onions, sesame seeds, kimchi, or shredded carrots.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the level of spiciness.
- You can use ground turkey or chicken instead of ground beef.
