Description

These Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tart Bars capture the beloved flavors of the classic toaster pastry in a convenient bar form. They offer a sweet, spiced, and nostalgic dessert experience perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • For the Glaze:
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. Spread half of the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Spread the remaining batter over the first layer.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before glazing.
  10. While the bars are cooling, prepare the glaze. In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  11. Once the bars are completely cooled, pour the glaze over the top and spread evenly.
  12. If desired, add sprinkles while the glaze is still wet.
  13. Cut into bars and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure your butter is softened but not melted for the best texture.
  • Do not overmix the batter after adding the dry ingredients.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting off.
  • Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
