Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup chopped apples
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, 2 tablespoons sugar, and salt. Press mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour half of the cream cheese mixture over the graham cracker crust. Dollop half of the caramel sauce over the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle half of the chopped apples and pecans (if using) over the caramel.
- Gently pour the remaining cream cheese mixture over the apple layer. Dollop the remaining caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with remaining apples and pecans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Let cool completely on a wire rack, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For an easier cleanup, line the baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- You can use your favorite store-bought caramel sauce or make your own.
- For a richer flavor, use full-fat cream cheese.
