Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate shavings


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter and 2 cups granulated sugar.
  3. Stir in baking powder and salt.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  5. Add flour and cocoa powder, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
