Description
Rich chocolate brownie bites topped with gooey caramel, crunchy pecans, and chocolate chips, resembling classic turtle candies.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans, divided
- 1 cup caramel bits
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in 1/2 cup of the chopped pecans.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle the caramel bits and chocolate chips over the hot brownies. Let them sit for 5 minutes to soften.
- Gently spread the melted caramel and chocolate evenly over the brownies.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of chopped pecans over the top.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into small bite-sized squares.
Notes
- For cleaner cuts, chill the brownies before slicing.
- Store leftover brownie bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
