Description

Rich chocolate brownie bites topped with gooey caramel, crunchy pecans, and chocolate chips, resembling classic turtle candies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, divided
  • 1 cup caramel bits
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in 1/2 cup of the chopped pecans.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  8. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle the caramel bits and chocolate chips over the hot brownies. Let them sit for 5 minutes to soften.
  9. Gently spread the melted caramel and chocolate evenly over the brownies.
  10. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of chopped pecans over the top.
  11. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into small bite-sized squares.

Notes

  • For cleaner cuts, chill the brownies before slicing.
  • Store leftover brownie bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
