Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed tomato soup
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the condensed tomato soup, uncooked rice, water, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and the cheese is melted.
