Chocolate Madeleines Ready in 1 Hour!

Description

Delicious and easy-to-make chocolate madeleines.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 3/4 cup (90g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (85g) semi-sweet chocolate chips, optional


Instructions

  1. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale and thick.
  3. Whisk in vanilla and melted butter.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips, if using.
  6. Refrigerate batter for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour madeleine molds.
  8. Fill each mold about 2/3 full.
  9. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are set and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Let cool in molds for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For best results, chill the batter.
  • Do not overbake.
  • Madeleines are best eaten fresh.
