Description

Sweet and spicy candied jalapeños, perfect for snacking or topping your favorite dishes.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds jalapeños, sliced
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed


Instructions

  1. Wear gloves when handling jalapeños.
  2. Slice jalapeños into ¼-inch thick rounds.
  3. Combine sugar, vinegar, water, turmeric, and celery seed in a pot.
  4. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  5. Add jalapeños and simmer for 10-15 minutes, until softened.
  6. Ladle into sterilized jars, leaving ½-inch headspace.
  7. Process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of jalapeños to your spice preference.
  • For a less spicy version, remove seeds and membranes.
