Description

Honey Pepper Chicken Mac and Cheese is creamy, sweet, and spicy! Make this irresistible comfort dish in just 20 minutes!

Ingredients

  • Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • Elbow Macaroni
  • Butter
  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Milk
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Gruyère Cheese
  • Honey
  • Black Pepper
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions.
  • In a large skillet, sauté the diced chicken breasts over medium-high heat until they’re cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the all-purpose flour to create a roux and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Gradually pour in the milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps from forming. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar and Gruyère cheeses until they’re fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season the cheese sauce with salt, black pepper, and a drizzle of honey to taste.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, the sautéed chicken, and the creamy cheese sauce. Stir until everything is evenly distributed.
  • Transfer the mac and cheese mixture to the prepared baking dish and top with additional shredded cheese, if desired. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  • Remove the Creamy Honey Pepper Chicken Mac and Cheese from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with a sprinkle of chopped fresh parsley or chives, if desired.
