Description

A creamy and delicious homemade hummus made with chickpeas, tahini, and fresh lemon juice.


Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas (15 oz), drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 2-3 tbsp water (as needed for consistency)


Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas.
  2. In a food processor, blend chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, and cumin until smooth.
  3. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, until the hummus reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Blend again for 1-2 minutes until creamy.
  5. Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and serve.

Notes

  • For extra smooth hummus, peel the chickpea skins.
  • Adjust lemon juice and salt to taste.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
