Description
A creamy and delicious homemade hummus made with chickpeas, tahini, and fresh lemon juice.
Ingredients
- 1 can chickpeas (15 oz), drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup tahini
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 2-3 tbsp water (as needed for consistency)
Instructions
- Drain and rinse the chickpeas.
- In a food processor, blend chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, and cumin until smooth.
- Add water, one tablespoon at a time, until the hummus reaches your desired consistency.
- Blend again for 1-2 minutes until creamy.
- Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and serve.
Notes
- For extra smooth hummus, peel the chickpea skins.
- Adjust lemon juice and salt to taste.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
