Description

Enjoy the festive spirit with these delightful Crumbl Christmas Sugar Cookies. These soft, chewy cookies are topped with a creamy, sweet frosting and festive sprinkles, perfect for holiday gatherings or a special treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. The centers should still look soft.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. While the cookies cool, prepare the frosting. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  10. Gradually add the powdered sugar, alternating with the milk, beating until smooth and spreadable. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  11. If desired, divide the frosting and tint with food coloring.
  12. Once the cookies are completely cool, spread or pipe the frosting onto the tops.
  13. Decorate with sprinkles immediately before the frosting sets.

Notes

  • For softer cookies, do not overbake.
  • Let cookies cool completely before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
