Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour


Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in melted butter, egg, and salt.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 15 minutes.
  6. Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape into rolls.
  7. Place rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 10 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake rolls for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
