Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup heavy cream, plus more for brushing
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for strawberries)
- Whipped cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together heavy cream and vanilla.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Gently fold in half of the sliced strawberries.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
- Brush the tops with heavy cream.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While biscuits bake, toss remaining strawberries with sugar.
- Let biscuits cool slightly.
- Serve warm biscuits with sweetened strawberries and whipped cream.
