Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream, plus more for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for strawberries)
  • Whipped cream, for serving


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in sugar.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together heavy cream and vanilla.
  6. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Gently fold in half of the sliced strawberries.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  9. Brush the tops with heavy cream.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. While biscuits bake, toss remaining strawberries with sugar.
  12. Let biscuits cool slightly.
  13. Serve warm biscuits with sweetened strawberries and whipped cream.
