Classic Golumpki, savory cabbage rolls filled with meat and rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Core the cabbage.
  2. Boil the cabbage until leaves soften.
  3. Mix meat, rice, onion, garlic, and seasonings.
  4. Fill cabbage leaves with meat mixture.
  5. Roll the leaves.
  6. Layer cabbage leaves in a pot.
  7. Place rolls in the pot.
  8. Pour in tomatoes and sauce.
  9. Simmer until cooked.
