Description

Make your own delicious and cheesy Homemade Cheez-Its with real cheddar cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup ice water


Instructions

  1. Whisk together flour, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Gradually add ice water, mixing until the dough comes together.
  5. Wrap the dough and chill for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out the dough thinly.
  8. Cut into small squares.
  9. Place on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Let cool and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a pizza cutter or knife for even squares.
