A simple recipe for tender chicken breasts coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice.
- If using cornstarch, whisk it with a tablespoon of water and add to the sauce.
- Bring sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return chicken breasts to the skillet and coat them with the sauce.
- Cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped parsley if desired.
