Description

Oven-baked honey teriyaki chicken thighs. Simple, delicious, and made without a slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs: 6-8 (bone-in, skin-on)
  • Soy sauce: 1/2 cup
  • Honey: 1/4 cup
  • Rice vinegar: 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic: 2 cloves (minced)
  • Ginger: 1 teaspoon (grated)
  • Sesame oil: 1 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch: 1 tablespoon
  • Water: 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame seeds: For garnish
  • Green onions: For garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
  3. In a small bowl, make a slurry with cornstarch and water.
  4. Add the slurry to the teriyaki sauce and mix.
  5. Place chicken thighs in a baking dish.
  6. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. If desired, broil for the last few minutes to caramelize the chicken.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes.
  • Adjust the honey to your sweetness preference.
