A classic dessert featuring layers of sweet biscuits, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 lb fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar (for strawberries)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for whipped cream)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in milk and vanilla until dough forms.
- Drop dough onto baking sheet in 6 equal portions. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
- Toss sliced strawberries with sugar and let sit for 10 minutes.
- Whip cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Split biscuits in half. Layer with strawberries and whipped cream.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For best results, use cold butter and milk.
- Adjust sugar in strawberries based on sweetness preference.
- Store leftovers separately to prevent sogginess.
