These M&M Christmas Cookie Bars are a festive and easy traybake dessert perfect for holiday parties. They combine the chewy texture of a cookie with colorful M&Ms for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups M&M’s candies (red and green for Christmas theme)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the M&M’s candies.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a chewier bar, bake for a shorter time.
- Use different colored M&M’s for other holidays or celebrations.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
