Description

A quick and healthy Mushroom and Tofu Stir-Fry ready in just 25 minutes. Perfect for a simple dinner with bold flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced


Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add tofu cubes and cook until golden, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Add mushrooms and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Mix soy sauce, cornstarch, and water in a small bowl. Pour into the pan.
  6. Return tofu to the pan. Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  7. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes and green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Press tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess water.
  • Use tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • Add broccoli or snap peas for extra vegetables.
