These adorable peanut butter reindeer cookies are a fun and festive holiday treat, perfect for baking with kids.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Red candies (like M&Ms or red hots) for noses
- Pretzel twists for antlers
Instructions
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
- Press a red candy into the top of each cookie for the nose.
- Gently insert pretzel twists into the top of the cookie dough before baking to create antlers.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- Ensure butter and peanut butter are at room temperature for best creaming results.
- Pretzel antlers can be added after baking if you prefer them to be crispier.
