Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add flour until just combined.
- Press dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- In a separate bowl, combine chopped pecans, granulated sugar, and melted butter.
- Spread pecan mixture evenly over the dough.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon to the pecan topping for extra warmth.
- Ensure bars are completely cool before slicing to prevent them from falling apart.
