Description
A creamy, flavorful chicken dish cooked in a slow cooker, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
- Pour the soup mixture over the chicken.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Shred or slice the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Stir in fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
- For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and stir into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Add sun-dried tomatoes or spinach for extra flavor and color.
