Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh cherries, pitted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, plus more for greasing the dish
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Place the pitted cherries in the prepared dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, and salt.
  4. Whisk in the eggs, then gradually add the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Stir in the melted butter.
  6. Pour the batter over the cherries.
