Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bag (16 ounces) frozen tater tots
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
  4. Spread the meat mixture evenly in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the meat mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, you can add a splash of sour cream to the meat mixture.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like corn or peas to the meat mixture.
  • If you don’t have cheddar cheese, any shredded cheese will work.
