A comforting and easy tater tot casserole, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 bag (16 ounces) frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the meat mixture.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, you can add a splash of sour cream to the meat mixture.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like corn or peas to the meat mixture.
- If you don’t have cheddar cheese, any shredded cheese will work.
