Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir until combined.
- Pour batter into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish.
- Combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle evenly over batter.
- Pour boiling water over the top without stirring.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- Do not stir after adding boiling water.
- Let it cool slightly before serving for best texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
