Description
Soft lemon sugar cookies are bright and fresh. They are ideal for winter baking.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg, lemon extract, and zest.
- Gradually add dry ingredients.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Let cool on sheets. Dust with powdered sugar.

- For extra lemon flavor, add a lemon glaze.
