Description

A moist and flavorful Bundt cake bursting with spiced apples, topped with a sweet glaze. Perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled and finely diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk or apple juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-cup Bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the diced apples and nuts (if using).
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. While the cake cools, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk (or apple juice), and vanilla extract until smooth. Add more liquid if needed to reach desired drizzling consistency.
  10. Once the cake is completely cool, drizzle the glaze over the top.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala for best results.
  • Ensure your apples are finely diced so they cook through evenly.
  • You can add a tablespoon of lemon juice to the apples to prevent browning if preparing them ahead of time.
