Description

Spiderweb Crepes are a fun and delicious Halloween breakfast treat. These crepes are decorated with a spooky spiderweb design using chocolate or dark batter, making them perfect for a festive and kid-friendly meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup or dark batter for spiderweb
  • Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth.
  4. Stir in the melted butter.
  5. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each crepe.
  7. Cook for about 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  8. To create the spiderweb, place the cooked crepe on a plate. Drizzle chocolate syrup or dark batter in concentric circles.
  9. Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center to the edge, creating a spiderweb pattern.
  10. Serve warm with whipped cream.

Notes

  • For darker crepes, you can add a tablespoon of cocoa powder to the batter.
  • Ensure your griddle is hot enough for even cooking.
  • Practice the spiderweb design on a spare crepe if you are new to it.
