A delicious and easy recipe for sweet cherry cobbler.
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh sweet cherries, pitted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in milk and melted butter until just combined.
- Pour batter into a greased 8×8 inch baking dish.
- Arrange pitted cherries over the batter.
- Sprinkle the top with 1/4 cup sugar.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- You can use frozen cherries; thaw them first.
- Adjust sugar to your taste.
