Description

A rich and decadent chocolate pecan pie with a true Texas flair. This pie combines the classic sweetness of pecan pie with the deep flavor of dark chocolate, all baked in a flaky crust. It’s a perfect dessert for holidays and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Press the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
  3. Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
  4. Scatter the chocolate chips over the pecans.
  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
  6. Stir in the melted butter, milk, vanilla extract, and salt until the mixture is smooth.
  7. Carefully pour the egg mixture over the pecans and chocolate chips in the pie crust.
  8. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the center is set and the crust is golden brown.
  9. Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For an extra rich flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
  • A dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream is a delicious accompaniment.
