Easy Apple Brownies combine the rich flavor of brownies with the sweet taste of apples, perfect for a fall treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chopped apples (about 2 medium apples)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped apples and pecans (if using).
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use a mix of apple varieties like Gala and Honeycrisp.
  • Ensure apples are chopped into small, uniform pieces for even baking.
  • Store cooled brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
