Description

These banana oatmeal bars are a healthy and delicious breakfast or snack option. They are easy to make and perfect for on-the-go.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine mashed bananas, applesauce, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together rolled oats, whole wheat flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool in the pan before cutting into bars.
