Ingredients
- Pasta (e.g., penne, spaghetti) – 8 oz
- Broccoli florets – 2 cups
- Olive oil – 1/4 cup
- Garlic, minced – 3 cloves
- Red pepper flakes – a pinch (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- Steam or boil broccoli florets until tender-crisp.
- While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a pan.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook until fragrant.
- Add the cooked broccoli to the pan.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Drain pasta and add it to the pan with broccoli and garlic.
- Toss to combine.
- Serve immediately, optionally with Parmesan cheese.
