A hearty and cheesy ground beef cobbler casserole with a savory biscuit topping.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (15 ounces) corn, drained
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in diced tomatoes and corn. Cook for 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, flour, melted butter, baking powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Pour the biscuit mixture over the beef mixture in the skillet.
- Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and cooked through.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of dried thyme or rosemary to the biscuit mixture.
- Serve hot with a side salad or steamed vegetables.
