These homemade hot pockets are a freezer-friendly option for a quick and easy lunch.
Ingredients
- 1 (13.8-ounce) can refrigerated pizza dough
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled sausage, pepperoni, or other desired fillings
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the pizza dough and cut it into 4 equal rectangles.
- Spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly over one half of each dough rectangle, leaving a small border.
- Sprinkle 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese over the sauce on each rectangle.
- Distribute 1/8 cup of your chosen filling over the cheese on each rectangle.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the filling, pressing the edges firmly to seal. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative seal.
- Brush the tops of the hot pockets with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For freezing, let hot pockets cool completely. Wrap individually in plastic wrap, then place in a freezer-safe bag or container. Reheat in the microwave or oven until warmed through.
