Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2-3 tbsp lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream together sugar and butter. Beat in eggs.
  4. Add milk and lemon juice.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients. Stir in poppy seeds.
  6. Pour batter into pan and bake for 50-60 minutes.
  7. Let cool. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over loaf.
