Ingredients
- 12 croissants, day-old
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 3 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Cut croissants into 1-inch pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine croissant pieces, cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese.
- Cook sausage and onion in a skillet until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add sausage mixture to the croissant mixture.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Pour egg mixture over the croissant mixture. Gently stir to combine.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Pour casserole mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until golden brown and set.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
