Description
Tender and juicy slow cooker teriyaki chicken, perfect for an easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs chicken tenders
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Green onions, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Place chicken tenders in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
- Pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken.
- Cook on low for 3-4 hours or on high for 1.5-2 hours, or until chicken is cooked through.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
- Remove chicken from slow cooker and set aside.
- Pour cornstarch slurry into the slow cooker and cook on high for 5-10 minutes, or until sauce thickens.
- Return chicken to the slow cooker and toss to coat with the thickened sauce.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
- Serve over rice or noodles.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- You can use chicken breasts instead of tenders, but adjust the cooking time.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
