Description
These almond crescent cookies are lightly sweet and dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for holiday baking.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in vanilla and almond extracts.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until just combined.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
- Shape each ball into a crescent moon.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Once cooled, generously dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
- For a stronger almond flavor, add 1/4 cup finely ground almonds to the dough.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
- These cookies freeze well before or after dusting with sugar.
