Description

These almond crescent cookies are lightly sweet and dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for holiday baking.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, for dusting


Instructions

  1. Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in vanilla and almond extracts.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until just combined.
  4. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
  7. Shape each ball into a crescent moon.
  8. Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  10. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Once cooled, generously dust with powdered sugar.

Notes

  • For a stronger almond flavor, add 1/4 cup finely ground almonds to the dough.
